Pastor Jason TourvilleGreetings!!! And yes, this is my 007 pose.

On a more serious note, I have talked to literally hundreds of men and women in these Northern Philadelphia Suburbs over the last number of years and have come to one conclusion: We Are All Looking For The Real Thing. Don't take me wrong, there are a lot of good programs, churches, and organizations; but they all leave us feeling as if there's got to be more when not centered upon our Creator.

Let me propose to you, what you and I long for can't be found anywhere or in anyone else than in the Life and Message of Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 1:3 says that "His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness." This simply means He is what you and I need most in life.

All the efforts of humanity through psychology, education, politics, and even religion can be man-made attempts to solve our problems. These are our attempts to control what can't be controlled... LIFE.

I'm not sure of your personal story or history, but I believe I am on safe grounds as I quote Jesus, "he who wants to save his life will lose it, but he who will lose his life for my sake will find it." Life in Christ is found through surrender.

My wife (René) and I are on this journey with you. We hope Cornerstone can help you and your family find the reality of a personal experience with Jesus, the Savior of the World.

May His Blessings Be Your,

Pastor Jason

The Urgency of Now E-mail

What motivates you to action? Why get up early for work and leave late? Why continue to hold the kids to the home rules, when it would be easier to give in. What keeps you focused on the menial tasks from day to day? Why work out when gravity and nature takes over anyway?

No, I am not trying to depress you... I just want you to ask yourself the question, "Why do I do what I do?" I know for me, I believe that my daily actions are tied to larger goals and purpose. For instance, I both discipline and encourage my children daily because I believe I have been entrusted by God to raise them to be righteous, and responsible adult for Him. I physically exercise because my body is God's temple and I want to be around to play with my grandchildren.

However, sometime we get caught up in the "survival mode." The emergencies of the moment overshadows the importance of tomorrow. Choices are made every day concerning how we spend our waking hours. Many of these choices have eternal consequence. Ephesians 5:16 tells us to "make the most of every opportunity..."

What we do today matter, even the little things. The reason: Today Effects Tomorrow as well as Tomorrow Effecting Today!!! These two combined yield THE URGENCY OF NOW. And if now is that urgent, what should you do now? Once this is answered, apply Nike's slogan, "JUST DO IT!"

21 Days of Faith, Week 1 E-mail

mustard seedsJesus words have rang in my head for years, "if you have faith as small as a mustard seed..." (Matthew 17:20). As many are joining in the 21 Days of Faith initiative that began this past Sunday, we are seeking God with many requests. We are asking Him for souls to be saved, as well as personal miracles and breakthroughs in our lives. To believe God for these requires faith.

Although I have never claimed to be an expert on the subject of Faith, I find it interesting how often Jesus uses illustrations as He teaches involving agriculture and the process of growth. Even Paul talks about the growth of the Kingdom when he writes that one plants, and one waters, but the Lord gives the increase"(1 Cor. 3:7-8). Faith grows in us!

If nothing else, I believe God wants to BUILD OUR FAITH over the next 21 days. Through your prayers you are planting seeds, and through your fasting you are watering that seed. You see, it doesn't matter how large that see is to begin with, what matters is what you do with it once it is planted. This is why Faith and Patience are always closely connected.

So, as you fast and pray for the people and circumstances in your life, realize you are fertilizing Faith in your life. Let's watch God give the increase and grow our faith. Faith doesn't come quickly, but it is worth the cost!
